It’s unusual for all 40 runners to make it round the gruelling four miles and 30 fences of the Grand National without there being any fallers - and 2019 is no different.
There have been several fallers in the 172nd renewal of the world’s most famous horse race, despite the efforts of the course to make the run more safe.
Since 2012, when both Synchronised and According To Pete were fatally injured, no horse has died during the Grand National.
Aintree have made several changes to the fences, stables, cooling down procedures and many other practices to try and improve horse and jockey welfare.
Still runners fall, however, often leading to groans from disappointed punters who have backed them.
It’s estimated 13 million people bet on the Grand National, while a whopping 600 million watch the event worldwide.
