FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. _ A Broward County grand jury has indicted four men in the fatal ambush shooting in June of rapper XXXTentacion, the Broward Sheriff's Office said Thursday.
The 20-year-old Parkland songwriter and performing artist, whose given name was Jahseh Onfroy, was driving out of a Deerfield Beach motorcycle dealership when his car was blocked by an SUV. Two gunmen jumped out, robbed him and left him mortally wounded, the sheriff's office said.
The grand jury's indictment handed up Wednesday charges the four suspects with first degree murder with a firearm and armed robbery with a firearm.
Detectives have already arrested two men. In a Broward County jail are Michael Boatwright, 22, of Fort Lauderdale, accused of being one of the armed suspects who confronted XXXTentacion.
Also in the jail is Dedrick Devonshay Williams, 22, of Pompano Beach. Detectives believe he was the driver of the SUV.
At large is a second suspected gunman, Trayvon Newsome, 20, of Fort Lauderdale, as well as Robert Allen, 22, of Fort Lauderdale.
Allen was seen on surveillance video at RIVA Motorsports at 3671 N. Dixie Highway on June 18, where XXXTentacion shopped right before he was slain. His alleged role in the killing was not immediately described by BSO on Thursday.
