Outer Urban Projects bring their multidisciplinary work, Grand DiVisions, to the stage as part of Melbourne festival. They mix genres, from beat boxing to Indian tabla drumming to gospel music, in an attempt to bring together all that divides, haunts and enchants Australians.
Composer and director Irine Vela was inspired by the diversity of stories and communities that thrive in Melbourne. With a string orchestra, hip hop and classical vocalists and contemporary dancers, she created a performance about falling in and out of love with our nation.
