Grand Designs viewers find big flaw in 'ugliest ever' Thunder Birds inspired house

A Grand Designs mansion inspired by the Thunder Birds has been slammed as the 'ugliest ever' as viewers spotted a huge flaw.

The show's fans saw retro TV lover Dennis totally transformed his industrial building into something spectacular.

The painter and decorator let people into his revamped home in the Norfolk countryside - and told us why he did it.

But it didn't exactly win viewers over and they spotted something not quite right. He told the Channel 4 cameras: "I did watch a lot of Thunderbirds, it looks like something a rocket ship should be attached too."

The tower made it onto the The Royal Institute of British Architects' shortlist for the 2021 prize.

Dennis was rightly proud of his work - but the property didn't win everyone over.

The kitchen and living room were at the top of the tower, meaning his family had to scale the amazing spiral staircase, with 132 steps to get a cup of tea.

The bedrooms were beautiful but were situated at the base of the building.

Wrap-around windows gave some amazing viewers - and he had clearly spent a lot of time and money on the place.

Dennis spent years on it, but fans called it a 'monstrosity' (Channel 4)

But fans noticed that if he wanted to leave the mega home in a hurry, he would be in trouble!

Many watching on at home hated the costly project and took to social media to get their feelings across.

One commented: "The water tower is genuinely the UGLIEST house I’ve ever seen."

Another wasn't impressed and questioned the council's decision.

The person put: "How did they get planning permission for this monstrosity?"

A third tweeted: "Who told him that that was a good idea?"

But one did say: "Loved the water tower house but I'd have definitely put a lift in imagine popping to the shops getting to the bottom of the stairs & realising you've left your wallet on the table."
