Grand Central Food Bazaar is set to close one year after its grand opening

Grand Central Food Bazaar is set to close this weekend.

The former home of Quiggins reopened as a food market in June last year which saw the relaunch of the Barcelona bar and the opening of a new 41-room hotel.

The hotel will remain open.

At the time its owner opened the food market, which was home to around 12 independent restaurants, in a bid to restore the Grade II listed building to its former glory.

Now, just over a year since it opened, the food market will be closing this Sunday, July 14. Currently only two restaurant stalls remain in the food market.

Throughout the year restaurants which have popped up at the site include IZAKAYA, Picnic, BARNA, Caffe Cream, Funky Lemon, Pintxo, Little Macaron Shop, The Workshop and an oyster bar.

Plans are now in place to open a bar inside Grand Central.
