Grand £1.65 million apartment for sale in Bloomsbury mansion block where Bob Marley lived in the Seventies

A grand four-bedroom apartment in a Victorian mansion block once home to Bob Marley is on sale for £1.65 million.

The Jamaican reggae star lived at 34 Ridgmount Gardens, Bloomsbury, in 1972.

A blue plaque was unveiled at the property in 2006, celebrating it as the first London home of the “singer, lyricist and Rastafarian icon”.

The apartment, now for sale through Dexters, is set behind a red-brick façade and has high ceilings, wooden flooring and an ornate fireplace.

There are four bedrooms with large windows overlooking the communal gardens.

Each home in the mansion block comes with the right to apply for keyholder access to Bedford Square Gardens — one of London's private Georgian garden squares.

“This well presented apartment is a fantastic example of why Ridgmount Gardens has built such a reputation as one of Bloomsbury’s premier properties," said Alison Battrick of Dexters in Marylebone. "The spacious and flexible living space is made even more attractive by the communal gardens and greenery."
