And here’s Sid Lowe’s match report from Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes:
Full-time: Granada 0-3 Barcelona
A Luis Suarez hat-trick sealed the title for Barcelona, whose celebrations are short-lived. They’re forced to head for the sanctuary of the dressing room after being mobbed by photographers, supporters and other folk as they danced a celebratory jig at the final whistle. They’ll go again next week, when they take on Sevilla in the final of the Copa del Rey. Curiously, they probably won’t get presented with the league trophy until after that match, as their city’s elders have forbidden any sort of reception or ceremony tonight, due to a clash with the Spanish grand prix.

BARCELONA ARE LA LIGA CHAMPIONS
Barcelona win the title for the 24th time, finishing one point ahead of Real Madrid. A hat-trick for Luis Suarez wrapped up the championship and the celebrations have begun in earnest.
90+2 min: Granada almost pull back a consolation goal as David Barral rattles the upright with a low diagonal drive that had ter Stegen beaten. On the touchline, the Barca substitutes are squirting each other with water-bottles.
Updated
90 min: On the Barcelona bench, the substitutes prepare for their celebratory pitch invasion at the final whistle. Granada win a free-kick wide on the right, but nothing comes of it.
Updated
88 min: Another simple finish after sublime build-up play. Neymar was played through on goal with Suarez in support to his right. The Brazilian drew the keeper, nudged the ball into Suarez’s path and his task couldn’t have been easier.

GOAL! Granada 0-3 Barcelona (Suarez 86)
Luis Suarez taps in again after commendably unselfish play for Neymar, who takes Fernandez out of the equation with a side-footed pass. Suarez scores into an empty net to wrap up the title for his team and the golden boot for himself.
Updated
84 min: Neymar attempts to tee up Luis Suarez for his hat-trick, but the Uruguayan is flagged for offside ... and misses anyway.
83 min: Real Madrid continue to lead Depor 2-0, but their efforts are almost certain to be in vain. As things stand, Barcelona will win the title with 91 points, one clear of Real.
Updated
82 min: Into the final 10 minutes of an increasingly scrappy game we go. Dani Alves attempts to pick out Neymar with a cross form the right, but the Brazilian out-leaps Babin only to head the ball straight up in the air.
81 min: Granada substitution: Ricardo Costa off, Matheus Doria on.
80 min: Barcelona substitution: Ivan Rakitic off, Arda Turan on.
78 min: Granada substitution: Barral on for Youssef El-Arabi. Some bloke behind one of the goals has been cheerleading relentlessly through a megaphone throughout the game. I can’t speak for those around him, but here in my Guardian’s London bunker, I’m losing the will to live and quickly approaching breaking point.
77 min: Gerard Pique goes down injured after getting an “accidental” elbow across the face while contesting a header.
74 min: Granada goalkeeper Andres Fernandez gets booked for his part of the aforementioned handbags, which took place about 65 yards from his goal. I think the referee may have waved the yellow in the direction of Gerard Pique too, but can’t be sure. Barcelona substitution: Javier Mascherano off, Jeremy Mathiu on.
73 min: There’s a mini-brawl as assorted Barcelona players take exception to Cuenca for refusing to put the ball out of play while two of their players were down injured. Luis Suarez and Javier Mascherano are the men in question.
Updated
70 min: Sergio Busquets goes down injured after over-stretching as he attempted to cut out a ball. He looks like he might have knackered his groin there, which could temper his celebrations tonight.
67 min: Another corner for Granada and again Rico sends the ball lofting into the Barcelona penalty area. Marc-Andre ter Stegen remains anchored to his line, but the ball is ushered wide by Barcelona’s defenders. If Granada could fashion a goal out of something here, it would make for an exceptionally nervy final 20 minutes for the champions elect.
66 min: Granada win a corner. Rico sends the ball into the penalty area, where Doucoure sends a looping header just over the bar.
65 min: Fran Rico is penalised and booked for a late lunge on Andres Iniesta, for which he apologises profusely.
64 min: Granada keeper Fernandez is pressed into action again, intercepting a Dani Alves cross from the right after the Brazilian had picked up a wonderful ball from Leo Messi.
62 min: Ruben Perez picks up his 17th yellow card of the season for a robust challenge on Neymar. Seventeen yellow cards! Miguel Lopes is lucky to avoid a straight red for some afters on Neymar, which went unseen by the referee.
Updated
60 min: Now it’s Andres Fernandez’s turn to save splendidly, Suarez picks out Neymar with a cross from the right and the Brazilian went for the bottom left-hand corner. The Granada goalkeeper’s reflexes were ninja-like as he dived low to his left to keep the ball out.
59 min: Hmmm ... replays suggest I may have been a bit hard on the boy Rico, there. His effort wasn’t straight at Ter Stegen, but to the goalkeeper’s right. It was a fine two-handed save.
Updated
56 min: Marc-Andre ter Stegen is called into action to make a save from Fran Rico, who was put through on goal and should have done better. With the goal at his mercy, the former Real Madrid midfielder shot straight at the Barcelona goalkeeper. That was a wonderful chance spurned; Granada should have pulled one back.
55 min: Barcelona win a free-kick about 35 yards from the Granada goal. Leo Messi shoots and his effort is on target, but Andres Fernandez palms the ball clear with both hands.
53 min: News reaches us of a Granada substitution: Ruben Rochina was hooked at half-time and replaced by Isaac Cuenca.
52 min: Dani Alves sends the ball flashing across the edge of the six-yard box from the right. Suarez stretches to poke it home, but misses by a fraction.
51 min: Miguel Lopes hacks the ball clear for a corner under extreme pressure from Suarez after good work from Rakitic. Messi picks out Rakitic on the right side of the penalty area and he gets in behind Ricardo Costa to square the ball. Granada clear.
50 min: Barcelona continue where they left off in the first half, dominating possession, pressing and probing as they search for openings. Granada look to have thrown in the towel - it’s all about damage limitation now. Their supporters don’t appear to mind; with safety already secured, they’re in part mode.
48 min: Neymar gets forward down the inside-left and pulls the ball back into the penalty area from the byline. His pull-back narrowly evades the onrushing Lionel Messi.
Updated
47 min: It’s worth remembering that Granada have nothing to play for today and could have made more of an effort to take the game to Barcelona. Instead, they’ve sat back, defended and let in two soft goals. It’ll be a huge surprise if they don’t concede several more.
Granada v Barcelona - second half
46 min: Granada get the ball rolling for the second half of Barcelona’s coronation. It’ll take a huge effort from the Andalusians to claw their way back into this match.
Hats off to Luis Suarez ...
He is about to wrestle the Pichichi award for La Liga’s top scorer away from Cristiano Ronaldo. The Uruguayan is on 39 goals, while the Portuguese is on 35. Assuming Suarez hangs on, he’ll be the first player apart from Ronaldo or Leo Messi to win the golden boot in seven years.

Half-time: Granada 0-2 Barcelona
The referee draws the first half to a close and Barcelona go in with a two-goal leaf. If it stays like this, Barcelona will be crowned La Liga champions this evening. Real Madrid are currently 2-0 up against Depor, but in dire need of a favour from Granada. On the evidence of this first half, they look unlikely to get one. Granada have huffed and puffed valiantly, but Barcelona have too much class for them.
41 min: Barcelona win a corner. It’s played towards the back post, where Granada clear courtesy of David Lomban.
39 min: Neymar fires wide from distance. Kudos to Dani Alves for the assist for Barcelona’s second. Mascherano’s ball from deep looked to be bouncing wide, but the Brazilain full-back chased it down and stretched every sinew to wrap his foot around the ball and hook it towards Suarez at the near post. The Uruguayan had clearly anticipated his pal’s doggedness and was in just the right place to head past Fernandez. If you backed Barcelona to win the title, you can go to hatch marked “collect”.
GOAL! Granada 0-2 Barcelona (Suarez 38)
Javier Maschewrano picked out Dani Alves with a wonderful pass from deep. The Brazilian performs heroics to keep the ball in play, hooking it towards the near post where Luis Suarez heads past Andres Fernadez from close range.
Updated
37 min: Jordi Alba goes to ground after a bit of a collision with Miguel Lopes and looks hurt.
36 min: Adalberto Penaranda, on loan at Granada from Watford, takes advantage of a loose pass from Leo Messi to skitter down the inside right, but is crowded off the ball before any of his team-mates can get up in support.
Updated
33 min: Dani Alves is forced into work down by the corner as Granada enjoy a rare moment of pressure. He handles the ball accidentally down by his own corner flag while attempting to scramble the ball clear, but Jean-Sylvain Babin’s appeals for a free-kick fall on deaf ears.
31 min: Barcelona continue to dominate, pressing and probing for an opening in front of a Granda goal that’s being protected by two banks of four. Granada regularly have all 11 men behind the ball as they sit back, try to absorb the pressure and hope to hit Barcelona on the counter-attack.
29 min: Neymar goes down injured again after Lopes leaves the foot in on his instep. That’s nasty. Lopes is lucky to avoid a booking; that could conceivably have been a straight red.
28 min: Gerard Pique struggles to clear a cross from the right that bobbles dangerously on the bumpy surface. There’s nobody on hand in a Granada shirt to capitalise and he hacks clear at his second attempt.
26 min: That Ronaldo goal was the Portuguese’s 51st of the season, but it won’t be enough to help his side win the title unless Granada can do them a favour here. It’s not looking too likely at the moment.
24 min: Miguel Lopes needlessly handles the ball on the edge of his own penalty area and is lucky to avoid conceding a penalty. Free-kick for Barcelona on the extreme right of the Granada penalty area. Leo Messi curls the ball straight down the throat of Andres Fernadez. Elsewhere in Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo has put Real Madrid two up against Deportivo.
23 min: The finish was a tap-in into an empty net for Luis Suarez, but the build-up was exquisite. After patient build-up play around the fringes of the Granada penalty area, Neymar picked out Jordi Alba’s run down the inside left. He beat the offside trap, got in behind Ricardo Costa and squared the ball for Suarez, who couldn’t miss.
GOAL! Granada 0-1 Barcelona (Suarez 21)
Luis Suarez taps in from about six yards to give Barcelona the lead.

20 min: Ruben Rochina seven-irons the ball into the Barcleona penalty area, where Marc-Andre ter Stegen charges off his line to punch clear.
19 min: Sergio Busquets gets a yellow card for a scything challenge on Youssef El-Arabi. There’s been a few tasty challenges so far. Free-kick for Granada, wide on the left about 50 yards from the Barcelona goal.
17 min: Fran Rico gets the ball on the right touchline, ambles forward and swings a cross into the Barcelona penalty area. Javier Mascherano heads clear.
16 min: Granada win a a free-kick in the centre-circle for a Sergio Busquets foul. They get the ball forward for a rare sortie into Barcelona territory.
15 min: Andres Iniesta pulls a low effort wide of the left upright from about 20 yards after good passing play on the edge of the penalty area between Suarez and Messi.
13 min: Lionel Messi picks out Neymar with a wonderful 30 yard curling pass over the Granada defence and into the left side of the Granada penalty area. The ball kicks off the ground as Neymar attempts to control it and Granada scramble it clear for a another Barcelona corner.
Updated
11 min: Leo Messi brings a smart save out of Andres Fernadez with a long-range effort. The goalkeeper tips the ball over the bar.
9 min: Gerard Pique squanders possession about 30 yards from the Granada goal with a loose pass and within seconds, Youssef El-Arabi is sent on his way in a lightning fast counter-attack. A couple of defenders get back to put him off and the striker’s early shot is weakly pulled wide.
9 min: Real Madrid have taken an early lead against Deportivo, with Cristiano Ronaldo opening the scoring. They lead the table in-running.
7 min: Chance! From the free-kick, Barcelona win a corner. The ball’s lofted into the box, where Gerard Piquet hammers a header goalwards. His effort is pushed on to the bar by Andres Fernandez and it’s a brilliant save. Barcelona’s players appeal for the goal, claiming the ball had crossed the line. Replays suggest it hadn’t. Bear in mind, they don’t use goal-line technology in Spain.
5 min: Ruben Perez sticks the boot in on Neymar and it’s a nasty challenge. He rakes his studs down the Brazilian’s ankle, which twists. Kharma intervenes and it seems Perez comes out of the challenge worse off than his victim. Both are fit to continue and Barcelona have a free-kick, which Leo Messi hoists into the Granada penalty area.
4 min: Ruben Rochina, formerly of Blackburn Rovers, curls the ball across the face of goal, but his delivery is too close to Marc-Andre ter Stegen. The goalkeeper grabs it at his leisure.
3 min: Fernandez takes a goal-kick for Granada, booting the ball long. They win an early free-kick for a foul on Youssef El-Arabi, wide on the left, in line with the left side of the penalty area.
1 min: Barcelona dominate possession in the opening stages, much like you’d expect. They’re pinging the ball back and forth across the pitch, which doesn’t look in the best kind of shape. It’s bumpy and the grass is a bit long.
Granada v Barcelona has kicked off ...
Barcelona get the ball rolling knowing a win will be enough to take the title for the 24th time.
Not long now ...
THe teams are out on the pitch at the Estadio Nuevo, where Barcelona will be hoping for an early goal to settle any nerves. They’re on 88 points, while Real Madrid are on 87. Granada line up in red and white hoops. blue shorts and white socks. Barcelona wear blue and red hoops, red shorts and blue socks. Despite picking up a slight injury in the warm-up, Neymar starts for Barcelona.
Arsenal have just won the women's FA Cup
They’ve triumphed against Arsenal in front of over 33,000 fans at Wembley and you can see how the action unfolded here. Wenger must go! It was nothing to do with him, but go he must!

So what about Granada?
The Andalusian side have already made themselves safe from relegation, a state of affairs that looked far from likely when Jose Gonzalez took over as their manager when they were down amongst the dead men in February. Since Gonzalez’s appointment they’ve played five at home and are unbeaten in them all, beating Sporting and Levante and securing draws against Espanyol, Rayo Vallecano and Malaga. In Granada’s past five seasons in La Liga, Barcelona have won three times on their travels to the Estadio Nuevo, drawn once and lost once.
Eyes front for a potentially dramatic final day in La Liga
Just one point separates Barcelona and Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table after 37 rounds of action and the title will be decided today. A win for Barcelona at Granada’s Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes will secure them the title, but if they slip up Real Madrid will be hoping to capitalise with a win against Deportivo La Coruna at the Estadio Municipal de Riazor. Kick-off is at 4pm BST and we’ll have team news for you just as soon as we get it.
