Gran's fury after speeding car demolished her wall in crash

A woman has said that "someone could have been killed" after a car demolished a wall and fence outside her home.

The woman, who asked not be named, said a Vauxhall Corsa crashed into her driveway at around 7.30pm on Friday

The incident happened in Lugsdale Road in Widnes. Photographs taken at the scene showed damage to a brick wall and a fence.

She said: "There was an almighty crash at around 7.30pm last night. A Corsa had smashed into the front of our house and then drove off.

"We often have grandchildren staying here and someone could have been killed. The car must have been going very fast.

"My parked car has been damaged and the fence came down."

The resident told the ECHO that she had reported the crash to police.
