Sometimes your luck simply isn’t in.
That was definitely the case for Harthill gran Kathleen Weber.
Last Christmas Eve she suffered a bad fall and broke her hip - while she was meant to celebrating her 60th birthday.
She had to spend Christmas and New Year in hospital, and after suffering another fall shortly after is still housebound as she continues her long recovery.
In a bid to boost her spirits, doting daughter Leigha nominated her mum to win the Wishaw Press’ Say it with Flowers competition.
We delivered this stunning bouquet - courtesy of Newmains florist Pixie’s Petals - to her Harthill home this week.
Leigha said: “My mum is the most amazing woman ever.
“She was so unlucky to suffer such a bad fall on her 60th birthday.
“Thankfully she’s on the mend and is getting better slowly, but she’s still got a wee way to go yet.
“My dad passed away only a year ago too so she’s really had a tough time of it lately.
“I’m hoping these flowers will help brighten up her day and keep her spirits up.”
Leigha is making sure she visits her mum as much as possible, especially with her three-year-old daughter Georgia-Lee.
She knows that visits from her grandaughter always make Kathleen feel better.
Leigha added: “I’m around all the time to try and keep mum company and try to help out as much as possible.
“She absolutely loves Georgia-Lee and she is definitely helping to keep her going.
“I can’t wait for her to be better so can get back to living her normal life.”
