Gran offers driveway to teen who lost Vauxhall Corsa when he went to Tokyo World

A music-loving grandmother has offered the use of her driveway to a teenager who lost his car on a trip to a Bristol festival.

Connor Spear, 19, drove more than 100 miles from Plymouth to attend Tokyo World in Eastville on September 21.

But when the event finished he was unable to remember where he had parked his black Vauxhall Corsa, even after spending 11 hours in search.

His appeal for help went viral, with thousands of shares, before Connor’s mum Sally Jeffery revealed on September 30 that "a kind man" had found her son’s "pride and joy" Vauxhall.

Now a woman who was moved by Connor’s plight, Suzan Allen, has got in touch with Bristol Live to make a heartwarming offer to the teen.

Suzan, 71, lives in Stapleton, minutes from the Tokyo World site in Eastville Park – and she wants to make sure Connor has a parking spot if he returns to the festival next year.

'I spent an hour going round roads'

The grandmother-of-six said: “I would hate to think that what happened might put him off coming back next year.

“At weekends, there is an empty space next to my car in my driveway, so he is more than welcome to it.

“I spent an hour going round roads looking for his car, but I think he’d found it by then."

Suzan says she felt sorry for Connor because she has a grandson of the same age.

She especially wanted to help because she herself attended the “lovely” Tokyo World this year, adding: “I would hate to think losing his car spoilt it for him.”

Suzan, a “raver” in decades gone by, has recently been enjoying plenty of live music in Bristol, with outings to the Tokyo World, Love Saves the Day and Spice Girls at Ashton Gate.

'I wore a hat and pink glasses so he wouldn't recognise me'

“I went to Tokyo World separately to my grandson, because he didn’t want his granny with him,” she added.

“I wore a hat and pink glasses so he wouldn’t recognise me and be embarrassed.

“I just think it’s lovely to have it on your doorstep. The drum and bass pounds a bit anyway, so it’s better to go over there than be in the house.”

She said her favourite act at Tokyo World was Craig David. When asked her favourite of his garage anthems, she replied: “I like them all.”

Suzan added: “I’ve always loved dancing. I do Latin American salsa and modern jive.

“By 10pm I have to admit I was ready to have a sit down and cup of tea.”

Bristol Live has made the Spear family aware of Suzan's offer.
