A talented Ayrshire artist has bagged the top prize in a design competition after being inspired by her granny.
Morven Pennington from Dunlop won the people's champion prize — hosted by new luxury streetwear brand, FORmE — after securing an impressive 200 votes for her sweatshirt design which will now inspire a future garment.
The 16-year-old beat over 100 other entries for the top prize and she owes it all to her granny.
Morven said: “I’ve always loved all kinds of art and a big reason for that was my granny, she was an amazing artist who taught me lots.
“I thoroughly enjoyed creating my design and throughout the whole process I was aware about how important it was to maintain the brand’s identity and my inclusion of the rainbow was to align with the brand's important message about self-positivity.”

FORmE founder, Daniel Watson, added: “It’s quite fitting that Morven won this competition as my granddad was my biggest inspiration and taught me so much. Morven’s design definitely stood out right away and I always knew she was going to be one of the most popular and I was over the moon when she was finally given the number one spot.
"She definitely has a very bright future in design and who knows, she could be a member of Team FORmE in the future!”
FORmE promotes a self-empowering message as the wording on the front of the clothing is written backwards so it acts as a reminder when looking in the mirror to do what makes you happy.
