Eminem has won the best rap album at the 2015 Grammys for The Marshall Mathers LP2, beating off competition from Iggy Azalea, Wiz Khalifa and Chicago rap star Common.
The rapper’s album was his first since 2010’s Recovery and saw him return to his confessional style, as well as featuring collaborations with Rihanna, Sia and Kendrick Lamar.
Eminem made headlines last year with his track Shady CXVPHER, which contained the lyrics “Bitch I’ll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance”, and followed his 2010 video with Rihanna that was criticised for glamourising domestic violence.
