There won’t be a live audience at the Grammys this year, but organisers seem to have gone above and beyond in an attempt to secure big names for the ceremony performances.

The line-up of artists who will perform during the event was announced this week, and includes major pop stars Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, BTS, Dua Lipa and Harry Styles.

Other artists booked to perform are Bad Bunny, Cardi B, Black Pumas, Doja Cat, DaBaby, Haim, Brittany Howard, Miranda Lambert, Brandi Carlile, Megan Thee Stallion, John Mayer, Maren Morris, Post Malone, Roddy Ricch, Mickey Guyton and Tamika D Mallory.

The Grammys usually reveals its lineup over several weeks, but for 2021 apparently decided to unveil them all in one go.

The ceremony itself is being hosted by comedian and late night TV host Trevor Noah at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The majority of the nominees will appear virtually due to the ongoing pandemic. Performances will reportedly be a mix of live and pre-recorded from various locations.

Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Roddy Ricch are among the most-nominated artists. Beyoncé, who leads with nine nods, has not been announced to perform.

Swift’s performance will mark her first at the Grammys in five years, but her seventh overall. She is up for some of the biggest awards of the night, including Album of the Year, for her critically acclaimed record Folklore.

Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion are both up for Best New Artist.

The awards will air live in the US on 14 March 2021 at 8pm ET (1am GMT) – you’ll be able to follow all the latest news, updates and comment with The Independent.
