Grainne Seoige said she’s glad to have cleared up her ‘Ice Queen’ label as she reveals her desire to make a TV comeback.
Throughout her career, the Galway born TV presenter was often dubbed cruel labels such as ‘Ice Queen’ due to her private nature.
However, after opening up about how it hurt and affected her life during an appearance on Living with Lucy in 2019, she said she has been inundated with support and kindness since.
“I was blown away by the love and support that I received after the show aired,” she said during an appearance on Virgin Media’s Ireland AM.
“I was genuinely touched and surprised by how many people said we never thought that about you.

“I got hundreds of messages and I still get them.”
“She [Lucy Kennedy] has such a wonderful, warm, way about her that it felt easy to talk about these things.
“And I'm glad I did because I think people appreciated the honesty of it.
“And I am fundamentally private, but sometimes it is good to air these things, and solve them and draw a line under it.”
The presenter turned businesswoman, 47, recently moved back home to Ireland from South Africa with husband Leon Jordaan, to be nearer to her family and friends.
And despite being busy running her jewellery business, Grace Diamonds the experienced broadcaster teased the possibility of returning to Irish TV screens now that she is back on Irish soil for good.
“I’d love it if it was the right thing. Everyone is very busy and time is very precious so I think it would have to be the right thing.
“But I love television, I've been doing it for nearly 25 years. And for the right project I’d love to get back into it.”
In the meantime, she said her focus is on her family, friends and loved ones after years spent apart, and the heartbreaking loss of her husband’s father last year.
Of their decision to move home, she said:
“It really had a lot to do with Leon and Leon’s family last year.
“And really for us family became so important. After we lost Leon’s dad.
“And Leon kept saying to me, your mom and dad are hail and healthy but you never know what life is going to bring.
“And really that made it crystal clear for me that your family and friends and the people who love you in life. That is the most important thing.”
Ireland AM airs on Virgin Media One from 7am – 10am, Monday to Friday and 9am – 12 midday Saturday and Sunday.
