Graham's the Family Dairy in job talks with 13 as Brechin depot is axed

Graham's the Family Dairy has confirmed 13 jobs are under consultation after the firm announced plans to close its Brechin distribution depot.

The Stirlingshire-based firm said some staff may be relocated to its facility in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, which opened in 2017.

It said the Angus facility, its smallest base, had fallen victim to a review of costs at the company which reported pre-tax profits of £2.2 million for the financial year to March 2019.

Managing director Robert Graham said: “As a business, we continually need to review and manage costs and efficiency, across all areas of operation.

"We have just started a consultation process with 13 of our colleagues in Brechin, our smallest depot. This depot services some customer who are equidistant to our £2 million site in Kintore, so there will be a number of roles and opportunities up for discussion, including relocation, where possible.”

Graham is the third-generation boss of a family firm based in Bridge of Allan, that was founded in 1939 and has grown into a £109 million turnover business.
