Graham Potter told Cesare Casadei is capable of bringing goals from midfield to Chelsea side

Cesare Casadei has been backed to bring goals from midfield to the Chelsea side when he gets his first-team opportunity.

The 19-year-old joined the Blues in the summer from Inter Milan, one of the signings made by the club with an eye to the future as Todd Boehly brought in a number of talented teenagers.

On his Chelsea debut, Casadei was sent off in the Papa John’s Trophy against Sutton United, though he enjoyed a better time of things in his next match as he scored against Everton’s U21 side.

Whether the midfielder gets a chance in the first-team in the near future remains to be seen, but Graham Potter has been told that Casadei is capable of being in the right place at the right time in the box.

Referencing the teenager’s goalscoring form in Italian football’s youth competitions, former Inter defender Daniele Adani believes he has a key trait that his new club can help to develop.

“Casadei is a 15-goal player in the Primavera,” Adani told BoboTv.

“He has the ability to get in the middle of ten people, but the ball gets to him. In his head, he has a time as if everyone disappeared.

“He is not a technically fine player, but he has that drive that I think in England they thought they could grow.

“In my opinion physically in the Primavera, it made a difference. We have to see him make his debut, he went to Chelsea in an incredible way, but it must be seen first.”
