Graham Potter sends Jose Mourinho message and outlines Brighton plan for Harry Kane and Son

Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Graham Potter believes Tottenham Hotspur are "as good as anybody" that he has seen in the Premier League so far this season.

The Seagulls chief made the admission ahead of Sunday night's tussle between the two clubs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Despite suffering disappointments at the hands of Everton on the opening day and dropping points against Newcastle United and West Ham United so far this season, Spurs have hammered both Southampton [5-2] and Manchester United [6-1], as well as registering a narrow 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday evening.

Those victories have highlighted Spurs' ability to win both emphatically and when they have needed to dig deep for the points.

And with Spurs looking as though they could have all the necessary credentials to mount a title charge this season, Potter has heaped praised on the work they have done so far.

"Definitely, yes. I have been really impressed with them," said Potter, addressing the work Mourinho has done with the squad this season. "I think they are as good as anybody I have seen this year.

"Really strong, real clarity, really good how they build up, how they attack, how they defend. Son and Kane, of course, but there are other players as well with tremendous quality.

"Gareth Bale coming back.

"Again, Jose Mourinho is a top coach he is up there with anybody in football ever, in terms of what he has done and what he has achieved, so I have huge respect for him.

"The critics I listen to less of."

One of the biggest challenges Brighton will face on Sunday evening is keeping both Harry Kane and Son Heung-min quite, with the duo having formed a formidable partnership so far this season.

Kane has scored 10 goals and registered nine assists so far this season, with scoring 10 himself and registering four assists.

With the duo in such dazzling form, Potter is fully aware of the threat they will pose.

Potter continued: "I would say both. I think you have to look at your own team and try to focus on the things that you can do, but always understand there is an opponent on the pitch.

"Sometimes when I come into these press conferences it is like there is only one team on the pitch and it is all about how good we were or how bad we were and there is always an opponent.

"And the opponent at the weekend is Kane and Son, which is probably as good a partnership as any in the Premier League.

"They are in incredible form and are fantastic and talented players. As much as we think we have a right to win a game of football, we have got other top players against us that also want to try and win.

"We would be foolish not to take that into consideration."
