Graham Potter sends Ben White transfer message amid Chelsea and Tottenham links

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Graham Potter says he has 'no worries' about defender Ben White getting his head turned by transfer interest.

Reports emerged this week linking White with a number of clubs, including Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.

White impressed on loan with Leeds United last season, helping Marcelo Bielsa's men return to the Premier League, and he has also impressed in the Premier League this season, making 11 appearances for Brighton across all competitions.

Clubs are now said to be circling, but the 23-year-old will not be distracted by transfer talk, even given the size of the clubs mentioned.

Or at least that's according to Seagulls boss Potter, who said in his press conference: "I have no worries about Ben getting his head turned at all.

"He is a level-headed guy and he wants to play football at the very highest level.

"He gets down with his work. He was totally professional in the summer despite the noise outside which you cannot control.

"He is a smart guy. We will try to help him enjoy his football as that is the most important thing."

White completed three loan spells before getting his chance at first-team football at the Amex Stadium, spending time with Newport County, Peterborough United and Leeds.

Tottenham are said to be on the lookout for a defender and may strengthen in that area in January, however reports claim Daniel Levy doesn't want to spend more than £15million.

Though, that does not mean they won't spend more in the winter, and reports claim the north London club are monitoring White's situation, along with Chelsea, who are blessed for options at centre-back currently with Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Fikayo Tomori in their ranks.
