Graham Potter has revealed that Brighton matching Leeds United's intensity was the key to beating Marcelo Bielsa's team.
The Whites were beaten 2-0 at the Amex Stadium by the Seagulls - with Pascal Gross and Danny Welbeck both scoring for Potter's men.
It was a disappointing performance for Bielsa 's team, who were in good form heading into the Premier League clash.
Brighton have now secured a double over Leeds, with the reverse fixture at Elland Road ending 1-0 to the south coast club.
Potter, when asked by Amazon Prime Video his secret to beating the Whites in both fixtures this season, highlighted the importance of matching their high intensity.
“There is a lot of hard work from the players. When you play Leeds, there is a certain intensity you have to match, which we have managed to do in both games," the Brighton boss said.
"We have been disciplined, well organised, we have had a way to attack and a way to defend.
"I thought today, overall, we were never comfortable because at 1-0, we felt we needed to get the second goal, but I felt like we were in control of things and that is not easy to do against a team that attacks so well," Potter concluded.
The loss means Leeds could not close the gap to eighth-place Everton and could be leapfrogged by either Arsenal or Aston Villa, depending on their respective results this weekend.
Next up for Leeds, Tottenham travel to Elland Road next Saturday afternoon, as Bielsa looks to continue his side's strong form against the top sides in the division.
After that is back-to-back away days to Burnley and Southampton, before the final game of the season - at home to West Bromwich Albion.
