Chelsea manager Graham Potter has appeared to back Erik ten Hag's decision to axe Cristiano Ronaldo from his squad following the striker's tunnel incident on Wednesday night. Ronaldo trudged down the tunnel during United's 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in midweek and has been dropped from the squad for the upcoming match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The Portuguese international trained alone at Carrington on Friday and will not travel to London for the Premier League clash against Potter's side on Saturday night.
Ten Hag confirmed during his press conference that Ronaldo had refused to come on against Spurs, with the former Real Madrid man proceeding to walk down the tunnel before the full-time whistle.

Blues boss Potter admitted that he didn't want to comment on the situation, but admitted that managers sometimes have to make difficult decisions.
Asked what he has made of Ten Hag's handling of the Ronaldo situation, Potter replied: "Well I can’t really comment because I don’t know the ins and outs.
"But he’s taken his stance, sometimes you have to do that. And then you need the club’s support and from the outside that’s what has happened.’
The 47-year-old was then asked if he would have taken a similar approach, to which he responded: "Well it’s difficult for me to comment because I don’t know the actual context, I don’t know what’s really happened, I don’t want to go off headlines and things like that.
"Part of the job is to take some decisions that are difficult, but that’s normal."
Potter has already recorded a win over United this season when he was in charge of Brighton, with the Seagulls winning 2-1 in August.
