Graham Potter has new Chelsea undroppable ahead of Everton clash as Christian Pulisic offers tip

Christian Pulisic has revealed the extent of the impact of some of Chelsea's best January business ahead of the clash against Everton on Saturday. The American winger has been working his way to fitness after being out injured for two months and the team he came back to is very different.

Whilst Pulisic was out Chelsea added five new players to their squad including three new attackers competing for a place with the USMNT star. That didn't stop him from getting the nod over Mykhailo Mudryk from the bench against Borussia Dortmund last week though.

It isn't the flashy forwards that have caught his eye though. In midfield Chelsea broke the British transfer record, signing Enzo Fernandez for over £100m on deadline day. The Argentine has quickly adapted to life in England has two brilliant assists to his name already too.

“Some of the guys have come in so naturally. Enzo Fernandez, the way he’s come in,” Pulisic told ESPN. The 22-year-old was one of the biggest stars in Qatar over the winter and saw his stock continue to rise at an astronomical rate having only moved from South America to Benfica over the summer.

Now he's already had comparisons made between his ability to dictate a match and spray passes across the pitch, including deft balls in behind. It's drawn some to see the similarity with Cesc Fabregas, a player who had great success from deep at Chelsea. There hasn't been much chance to build a relationship with Pulisic yet though.

“After you have a World Cup like that, the confidence aspect is there; he knows he can play in the biggest games in the world. He’s come in with a big price tag, and I have to give him credit. He’s done a good job," the American added.

“The way he passes the ball is clear. The way he can dominate a midfield is impressive. I think he’s a really strong young player.” Fernandez has made an immediate impression in the Premier League and has struck up a good relationship with Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz and Joao Felix on the pitch.

Pulisic will be hoping he can do the same and the added bonus here is that there is still a lot to come from the maestro. Currently playing in a double-pivot, balancing defensive duties with going forward, Fernandez isn't in what may be considered his best role. Such is his talent it hasn't been an issue but when N'Golo Kante gets back to fitness and game time comes in larger portions, even more freedom may be seen for Fernandez in a creative sense.
