Graham Potter details Brighton transfer stance on wonderkid Liverpool 'target'

Brighton manager Graham Potter has spoken about his side’s interest in rumoured Liverpool target Kacper Kozlowski.

The 18-year-old has been linked with several European clubs in recent months, including Liverpool , following his performances for Ekstraklasa side Pogon Szczecin.

Kozlowski made his professional debut as a 15-year-old and became the youngest-ever player to feature at a European Championships during Euro 2020.

He has since been linked with a move to Brighton and Graham Potter kept his cards close to his chest when asked about the Polish starlet.

"There is nothing to confirm, but he's the type of player that we'd be interested in,” the Brighton coach said .

"We're always looking for players that can help us now and in the future and you have to find that balance.

"The club have done that well so far and will continue to do that."

The Athletic have reported that Kozlowski is set to move to the Seagulls in an £8m deal and will be loaned out for the remainder of the season.

Able to play in centre midfield and as a number 10, Kozlowski has scored three goals and registered four assists in 16 league games this season.

Liverpool were first rumoured to be interested in the midfielder in October , alongside AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen, but the teenager was coy on the possibility of a future move.

“I try to cut myself off from this type of information,” Kozlowski told Polish news outlet Sport Interia . “Let my agent handle it.

“I don't know what I will do tomorrow, much less whether I will finish the season in Pogoń or leave in winter.

“I don't think about it, I do my own thing. And big names, they do not impress me.

“My dream is to play in this class of club in the future, but I think that the best thing to do is to apply the principle of small steps to reach the goal.”
