Graham Geragthy's wife says the Meath GAA great 'will make a full recovery' after undergoing a major operation last month.
The former footballer, 47, took ill in late October before undergoing an operation in Beaumont Hospital.
His wife Amanda has said he has 'a long road to recovery', but that he will get there.
She told The Meath Chronicle: "He is doing good, he is talking and coherent and he’s up walking around, he has just a lot of fatigue and pain.
"It will be a long road to recovery but he will make a full recovery please god so we are very lucky."
Over the weekend, Amanda said her husband had 'surpassed everyone’s expectations' with his recovery from the operation.
She posted on Facebook: "Just to let everyone know Graham has surpassed everyone’s expectations and his recovery is going really well he is coherent and talking and has taken a few steps he still has a long road ahead of him and he wants to thank everyone for all their prayers acts of kindness to myself and his children and well wishes."
The Royals icon won two All-Ireland senior football titles in a stellar career with Meath, as well as three Leinster titles, and won two All-Star awards.
