Graham Coughlan eager to see Bristol Rovers' FA Cup progression rewarded in January transfer budget

Graham Coughlan is hoping that Bristol Rovers will be able to spend some money in January after progressing in the FA Cup.

The Gas beat Bromley 1-0 last night in a first round replay and now face Plymouth Argyle in the second round.

Last night's game was live on BT Sport, whilst the first game was moved to a Sunday for live highlights on the BBC, with the game against Plymouth set to receive the same treatment.

It means Rovers have netted extra income from matches being televised, along with prize money for progressing in both the FA Cup and EFL Trophy.

Whilst Coughlan says he is not the man to speak to about the club's finances, he is hoping to see Rovers rewarded by the board for their efforts.

He said: "It's been a very positive couple of weeks, being on the telly and getting through to the next round of the EFL Trophy.

"Finances aren't my issue, I'm not a financial man - I never have been and I never will.

"It's those lads upstairs that are probably best to judge but I'm just hoping that progression that we've made, the game on the telly, games being moved to a Sunday, I just hope that the kitty is building and we may be able to do a player or two in January."
