Red has taken over interiors this year. From zingy tomato shades at the start of the year to the deeper oxblood dominating fall color trends, 2025 has put this often-overlooked color back in the spotlight. And Graham & Brown's announcement of their Color of the Year proves that the color trend isn't going anywhere in 2026.
The British interior and paint brand Graham & Brown has announced Divine Damson as its 2026 Color of the Year. A dark and moody berry meets cherry shade, it's the perfect way to introduce warmth and depth into your home this fall and beyond.
In addition to its Color of the Year, Graham & Brown has also launched their Mural of the Year, titled 'Eternal City'. Inspired by the rich landscape of Jaipur, the mural is detailed and ornate, reminiscent of antique wall hangings. Alongside the mural, the brand has also launched its Design of the Year, the 'Eternal Weave' wallpaper, influenced by nature and mythology. Both pieces are designed to pair beautifully with Divine Damson or shine solo.

Taking its name from the ripe fruit, Divine Damson is the ultimate moody, sophisticated paint color that evokes feelings of warmth and coziness. An archetypal fall color trend, it's guaranteed to give a snug, home library or bedroom an all-encompassing richness that's perfect for this time of year.
Paula Taylor, Stylist and Trend Specialist at Graham & Brown, says, 'Divine Damson brings a dramatic flair to any space, its subtle violet undertone adding a touch of refined elegance. Unlike the more subdued, earthy reds, such as rusty hues, which create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The dark cherry red color feels bold and polished, making a strong visual statement.'

It's a color that can work on its own (imagine it totally color-drenching a tiny powder room, or making a pantry a focal point) but the drama can also be dialed down by layering with softer, warm neutrals.
As Paula explains, 'Divine Damson works well as a standalone color as it's such a vivid and rich color. You can also soften its intensity with grounding neutrals like Chesterfield or Glimmerous. When combined with muted shades like pastels or warm neutrals, it levels out the bold color by adding warmth and balance. Soft greys will balance the intensity and keep a modern look, whereas earthy neutral tones will complement the richness beautifully.'

Graham & Brown's wall mural of the year, titled 'Eternal City', is equally as elegant. Delicately hand-drawn and printed, the piece is inspired by the Pink City of Jaipur.
Designed to shine at the center of a room, it's the perfect centerpiece that will stand out in a dining room or bedroom, bringing vibrancy and life into any space. Inspired by traditional miniaturist painting, the mural is filled with jewel tones that pair beautifully beside Divine Damson.
'The Designs of the Year draw inspiration from the makers who came before, reflecting a timeless human desire to explore texture, color, and narrative,' explains Paula. 'This storytelling was often rich in vibrant hues and intricate scenes of mythic tales and royal life, portraying gods, demons, fantastical beings, and sacred symbols. These designs not only preserve artistic skills and inspire innovation but also embody cultural continuity. In many traditions, they are cherished as sacred heirlooms, offering a tangible link to the divine.'

The 'Eternal Weave' wallpaper is equally luxurious, designed to bring a touch of the ornate and grand into the everyday home.
Influenced by nature and mythology, the wallpaper features tropical flowers, plants, birds, and reptiles, reminiscent of traditional vintage wallcoverings. Like the mural, Eternal Weave is inspired by ancient textiles, combining contemporary and historic design into one unique decoration.
It's the ideal print for pattern-drenching and the darker colorways would work perfectly in a small space to add some drama and blur the edges of the space. If you are after something lighter and brighter, the design is available in six colorways, and there's a real mix of schemes that each give the print a different feel.
