Graham Alexander in shock Rangers penalty claim as Motherwell boss vents over mystery no call

Defiant Motherwell boss Graham Alexander claims his side should have had a penalty while leading against Rangers.

The Steelmen took the lead through Bevis Mugabi before the league leaders flexed their muscles and ran out comfortable 6-1 winners.

Motherwell captain Stephen O'Donnell also saw red in a Halloween horror show at Fir Park.

It means Steven Gerrard 's side extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership, while 'Well extend their winless run to five games.

However, Alexander insists things could have been different had referee Nick Walsh pointed to the spot for an alleged hand ball.

Despite the comments, the boss did not point out the mystery incident that appeared to stir little reaction from the home crowd or players.

Reflecting on the game, he told the club website : "We scored a good goal, I thought we passed the ball when we had it, we were disciplined in our shape, we could have had a penalty with a hand ball at 1-0.

"So these little things can define a game, but it's the two goals; because the first one is a world class finish.

"We sort if defend in certain ways where if someone scores with that type of finish we have to hold our hands up.

"The second one is the disappointing one because we know where we watch it back we know we will have done things we shouldn't to concede that goal.

"It does flip the game on it's head."
