Grafton shoppers being targeted by 'predatory seagull' lurching over Brown Thomas

A "predatory seagull" with the finer tastes has been causing havoc for Dublin shoppers as it's been specifically targeting its victims outside one of the city's most famous stores.

The winged-thief "assaulted" three people in the space of minutes this week with one seagull-eyed shopper spotting the opportunist and catching one of his failed attempts.

Media consultant Tom McEnaney spotted the crafty gull go for a slice of the big time on three occasions and even managed to snap the moment it swooped on one unsuspecting reveller.

He said: "There’s a predatory seagull perched outside Brown Thomas in Dublin and every few seconds it swoops down looking for a sandwich-eating victim. It has assaulted three people in the few minutes since I first noticed it."

Dublin Live has contacted Dublin City Council for comment as it's unclear how they will tackle the grave threat to the city centre's lovely sambos.

Meanwhile people were quick to respond to Tom's snaps to make light of the incident.

Cavan man Paul Staunton joked: "I presume all sandwiches are cut into Grafton Quarters?"

Another wrote: "Think the M&S patio restaurant is also part of his beat. He does the table clearing for them."

One said: "Maybe we should rename the area the "Seagull Quarter" to appease our new feathery Masters."
