Graeme Souness' top-four prediction that won't go down well with Chelsea and Tottenham fans

Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness is predicting that Manchester United will pip Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur to a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

Currently, Chelsea hold fourth place on 45 points, just ahead of Manchester United, who face Everton at Goodison Park this afternoon, on 41 points.

Prior to today's clash with the Toffees, United have been in good form of late, taking seven points from their last three league matches without conceding a goal.

And that run of form has persuaded Souness to tip the Red Devils, who appear to have been given a great lift since the January addition of creative midfielder Bruno Fernandes, to pip both Chelsea and Spurs to finishing inside the top-four come the end of the season.

"Manchester United are playing with confidence and belief and they can see light at the end of the tunnel," Souness told Sky Sports.

"I think they will make the top four, they have a great chance when you look at what the others are doing.

"Chelsea are having a blip at the wrong time and Spurs have both of their main forwards out. Their most creative player is long gone.

"I see United making the top four."

Whilst Souness is backing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side to secure the final top-four spot, a defeat for the Red Devils against Everton this afternoon would open the door for Tottenham, who are also in action this afternoon, facing Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

A victory for Spurs coupled with a United defeat would move Spurs to within two points of Chelsea.
