Graeme Souness names where Leeds United are leading the Premier League this season

Graeme Souness says Leeds United are the Premier League's entertainers this season.

The Whites' ability to score and concede in large numbers is notorious in the Premier League this season, with Marcelo Bielsa's unique style both winning over fans and gaining critics for his refusal to compromise.

Souness says he has been impressed with the amount of purpose Leeds have in possession, pointing to how quickly they try to move the ball forward instead of conserving possession.

Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of the Whites' game against Arsenal, Souness admitted that Bielsa's style and insistence on pushing players forward can sometimes make his side vulnerable to teams on the counter-attack.

Yet he said, for a neutral, it makes them one of the most entertaining teams to watch in the Premier League this season thanks to their ability to also score goals.

He said: "This is my favourite team to watch this year, going right back to the first game of the season against Liverpool, you’re thinking, ‘wow’.

"The energy they play with, they try and play in the right way, to go forward. At times, it makes them vulnerable but they’re a great watch.

"I just think it’s not tippy-tappy football, there’s not lots of possession in their own half, they try and get it forward at every opportunity.

"Yeah, they’ll give it away if you try and do that, but you will score goals, you will be vulnerable if you’re committing people forward, but it is an entertainment business they’re in and them, for me, have been the number one entertainers in our league this year."

Souness' pre-match theory was soon played out by Leeds, who went 4-0 down before launching a rearguard second-half display, pulling back two goals to ensure a nervy finish for the Gunners.
