Graeme Souness makes remarkable Liverpool claim amid Premier League title battle

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has made a remarkable claim about the Reds after their 2-0 win over Cardiff City.

Jurgen Klopp's men are now two points clear of Manchester City in the battle for the Premier League title this season following the comfortable triumph in Wales.

Whilst there is no guarantee that this Liverpool side will break the run of 29 years without a league title, there is no doubt this is a special team.

That is clear from the fact that the 88 points Klopp's side currently have is the most amassed by a Liverpool squad in the Premier League era, with three games still remaining.

Fans spot curious difference in Gary Neville's comments on two Liverpool penalty incidents

This excellent points tally was brought up live on Sky Sports in the aftermath of the win at Cardiff and it prompted Souness to say that he believes Liverpool do not have any weaknesses.

"If you are going to be champions, you have to deal with challenges in different ways. They looked like a composed team. They were patient and didn't try and force it," Souness told Sky Sports.

"They weren't at their best but they were still fabulous. Very polished. I think they have got over their nervy moments.

Virgil van Dijk sounds Manchester United message and reveals Liverpool target

"They have dropped that now and they are playing with composure and belief.

"They are now a team without a weakness."

Considering that Liverpool are battling tooth and nail in a record season for the title race and are in the final four of the Champions League, you'd have to say that Souness' comments - as bold as they are - are not without merit.
