Graeme Souness' brutal Manchester United verdict after Sheffield United draw

Graeme Souness has blasted Manchester United’s players after their game against Sheffield United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side looked set to endure more away-day misery after goals from John Fleck and Lys Mousset handed the hosts a 2-0 lead midway through the second half.

But three quick-fire goals from Brandon Williams, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford handed United the lead heading into the closing stages, but Oli McBurnie's 90th-minute strike rescued Chris Wilder’s side a point.

And despite the comeback, Souness was left angered with what he witnessed from Solskjaer’s side for the opening 70 minutes of the game at Bramall Lane, and took aim at United’s stars post-match.

"The vast majority of times, when they go 2-0 down, they're not getting back into the game,” the Scot told Sky Sports .

“Sheffield United put so much effort into the first 70 minutes, remember they've just got promoted.

"They (Manchester United) turned up like a team of big heads, turning up and playing a game of football and not having to go to war.

“No-one will come to this stadium and get a result if that's a normal performance from them unless they're prepared to dig in."
