Grace Victory: YouTuber with Covid-19 ‘awake and baby thriving’ after coma

A popular British YouTuber who was placed into an induced coma with Covid-19 hours after the birth of her first child has said she is “awake”.

Grace Victory, 30, from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, was taken to intensive care on Christmas Day after struggling to breathe.

The previous day doctors had made the decision to induce the birth of her son, who was not due to be born until February

On Monday she posted on Twitter and Instagram for the first time in over two months, saying: “I’m awake”, followed by another tweet which read: “Baby boy is thriving at home x.”

Miss Victory, also known as “The Internet’s Big Sister”, joined YouTube 10 years ago and has gained more than 221,000 subscribers with her videos about body image and pregnancy.

When it was first announced that she was induced into a coma, fans and celebrities including, Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock, flooded her post with support.

Model and campaigner Katie Piper said: “Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers Grace.”

In a statement at the time her family wrote:“She has dedicated her whole career to healing people, we now ask that you pray, to heal her.”
