GPs and community pharmacies will remain open across Lanarkshire this public holiday

All GP practices and most community pharmacies across Lanarkshire will be open as normal on Friday, May 8, to help alleviate the pressure on other areas of the healthcare system.

A number of community pharmacies will be closed, but all communities across Lanarkshire will have access to a community pharmacy.

Craig Cunningham, Head of Commissioning and Performance, South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership said: “We would like to thank all community pharmacy and GP practice staff for going above and beyond during these challenging times. Opening on public holidays is just one way they’ve changed how they work to deal with the demands of Covid-19.”

Across Lanarkshire community pharmacies are returning to their normal opening hours, however physical distancing measures and restrictions remain in place.

Please do not attend your practice or community pharmacy if you have symptoms of COVID-19 (coronavirus).
