The GPA and WGPA have voted “overwhelmingly” to join forces.
Both bodies held extraordinary general meetings this evening where it was decided to merge with 100% of GPA delegates in favour and 96% of WGPA delegates supporting the move which will see a combined membership of some 4,000 players.
A “transitional national executive committee” has been established and will meet next month to elect officers, including co-chairs, a GPA statement outlined.
A new national executive committee will be elected at next year’s AGM “which will proportionally represent the association’s female and male members”.
