GP surgeries and pharmacies in Greater Manchester are staying open over the Easter Bank Holiday

Doctors surgeries and pharmacies across Greater Manchester are staying open over the Easter Bank Holiday.

Both will remain open on Good Friday, April 10, and on Easter Monday, April 13, to provide care for those in need.

Patients who need a GP should contact their normal practice.

They will then recieve the help they need from their usual surgery or they will be directed to a nearby hub.

Pharmacies in the region will be open from 2-5pm at minimum.

Any patients suffering with Covid-19 symptoms are asked to call NHS 111 online as the first port of call.

Urgent dental care provision will also be available over the Bank Holiday weekend at treatment hubs set up across the region.

Anybody suffering dental pain or requiring urgent dental treatment are asked to call the Greater Manchester Urgent Dental Care Service.

Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership spokesman said: “We are expecting Easter Weekend to remain a busy period for the NHS, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We hope that by keeping GP practices and pharmacies open we can continue to provide care to those in need.

“Thank you to all GPs, pharmacists and their staff working over the break.”
