LUCKNOW: The state government officials on Saturday stressed on the need for encouraging people to register themselves before walking into vaccination centres to make the inoculation process easier.
Officials said that common service centres in rural areas could be used to facilitate registration.
They said registrations would reduce waiting time at vaccination centres and make the process easier for health teams engaged in the task. Currently, it is not mandatory for people to register for vaccination.
Meanwhile, 4.92 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine were given on Saturday taking the total number of doses administered in the state to 3.26 crore. With this, at least 2.77 crore people have taken at least one dose of vaccine while 48.2 lakh are fully vaccinated.
So far, Covishield and Covaxin have been administered in public sector. However, some private centres in the state, like Apollomedics and Medanta, have started providing Sputnik on payment basis.
