Government spokesman Buddhipongse Punnakanta has resigned to apply as a party-list candidate for the March 24 election.
Mr Buddhipongse said he had informed Prime Minster Prayut Chan-o-cha about his decision to resign as both deputy secretary-general to the prime minister and government spokesman. His resignation took effect yesterday.
He said he was not legally required to resign before applying as an MP candidate but needed to free up his time.
