Govinda's son gives health update: Actor to 'be back dancing' after accidental shooting leg

Bollywood star Govinda is on the road to recovery following his shocking accidental shooting.

Weeks after the actor was released from the hospital, his son, Yashvardhan Ahuja, has given fans a health update and assured all that their 'Hero No 1' will be back on his feet and dancing.

The incident, which happened earlier this month, led to Govinda receiving eight to ten stitches at Criti Care Hospital in Mumbai. "He’s much better now," Yashvardhan shared while attending a Diwali party on Tuesday, and revealing that the stitches have been removed. "He’ll be back dancing in a couple of weeks," he added with a smile.

According to various reports, the accidental shooting incident took place early one morning when the actor was storing away his gun before preparing for a trip to Kolkata. The actor explained that he was cleaning his revolver when it slipped from his hand and discharged upon impact with the floor. "Initially, I couldn’t believe it had happened," Govinda recounted. "I felt a sudden shock and then realised there was a fountain of blood."

Following the accident, Govinda was rushed to hospital where he received immediate treatment for his injury. The Mumbai police are currently investigating the incident. The actor also held a press conference to address any speculations, assuring the public that he is on the mend.

Govinda, best known for his comic roles and dance numbers, made his comeback to politics earlier this year when he joined the Eknath Shinde faction of Shiv Sena.
