Governor praises farmers for taking up natural farming in a big way

Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan has said that climate crisis can be addressed through natural farming and appreciated farmers who took up natural farming in a big way.

He released the film in Telugu titled ‘ Amrutha Bhoomi’, made on the theme of natural farming produced by an NGO, Jattu Trust, in association with Rythu Sadhikara Samsta, at Raj Bhavan here on Saturday.

Welcoming the decision of the State government to bring out a policy on organic farming which will address climate crisis, the Governor said the film ‘ Amrutha Bhoomi’ would create awareness on the benefits of natural farming, among all the stakeholders like the farmers, farmers’ institutions, women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and others.

Rythu Sadhikara Samstha executive vice-chairman T. Vijay Kumar said that the apex body of farmers in the State, had been advocating natural farming and more than six lakh farmers had adopted natural farming, and Andhra Pradesh had been recognised as a ‘Resource Agency for Natural Farming’ in the country. The State was attracting the attention of other countries, he said.
