The novel coronavirus that causes the disease COVID-19, will keep Ohio under a shelter-at-home order until at least May 1, but what about fall football?
Will football happen? Will spectators be allowed to be at games?
While those two questions are vastly different, they both bring on considerable risk when discussing the current state of America and the absolute economic collapse that’s been brought on by coronavirus.
Ohio’s governor, Mike DeWine, has been one of the more proactive governors, having hopefully flattened the curve.
With a few models projecting several thousand new cases per day, DeWine has done a spectacular job of engaging the public regarding these decisions, helping keep Ohio from becoming one of the hot spots in the country.
But, what comes next is murky waters for us all.
Will Ohio State be able to play with 100,000 fans this fall? Here’s DeWine’s response according to the Toledo Blade’s Kyle Rowland.
It’s tough to imagine a fall without football, and what’s even tougher is imagining it happening without a single fan in attendance.
This will be a situation to monitor as Ohio cases have started to slow as the already-extended stay-at-home order’s hopeful last day continues to inch closer.
