Governor-General David Hurley is the latest high-profile figure to test positive to COVID-19, as the virus continues to sweep through the nation.
The diagnosis was revealed via statement from Government House late on Sunday night.
General Hurley is double-vaccinated and has received his booster shot, according to the statement.
"His Excellency is experiencing only slight symptoms," the statement read.
"He is isolating at Admiralty House and will continue to follow all health advice and directions.
"Recent close contacts have been notified. His Excellency will conduct his official duties virtually while isolating."
General Hurley's diagnosis came after other prominent figures, including Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, tested positive to the virus in recent days.
