This could result in a 12-fold rise in the number of import and export declarations made by local
companies in the event of a no-deal British exit.
Minister of State Michael D’Arcy, who is responsible for financial services, said he believed Britain will leave without a deal which could have severe implications for this country.
The Government will offer firms €6,000 per trainee - up to a maximum of 10 per company - as well as a free training programme for all eligible customs agents, intermediaries and affected businesses as it said the country.
Minister D’Arcy said: “Some people in the UK have convinced themselves that no deal is a good thing and that there are no circumstances that the European Union would allow the UK to crash out.
“The European Union has...moved the (Brexit) date on a number of occasions. I don’t see any more flexibility.
‘The deal will be done after the 31st of October”.
