Government gives update on health of Prime Minister Boris Johnson

The Government has given an update on the health of Prime Minister Boris Johnson after he was diagnosed with the new coronavirus Covid-19 on Friday.

It was announced on Friday afternoon that Mr Johnson is self-isolating after contracting the disease.

The new came an hour before it was announced that Health Secretary Matt Hancock also has the virus.

And it came after it was announced that Prince Charles, the Prince of WEales, has tested positive for the virus and is self-isolating.

Mr Johnson did not lead the daily press briefing from Downing Street today, with Business Secretary Alok Sharma in his place.

Mr Johnson held a video conference call this morning and continues to lead the Government’s efforts to combat Covid-19 as he self-isolates after testing positive for the illness, Mr Sharma said.

He said the Cabinet is still being lead from the front by Mr Johnson and said there are 'no holes' in Government.
