Govan Road incident: teenage boy in hospital after serious assault

A teenage boy was seriously assaulted on Govan Road last night. 

Police cordoned off part of the street nearby Shaw Street around 11.15pm on Friday. 

The 17-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

The boy's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. 

A Police investigation has been launched into the incident. 

A spokesman said: "Police were called around 11.15pm on Friday, 13 November, 2020, following the report of a serious assault on Govan Road.

"Officers attended and a 17-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment of injuries that do not appear to be life threatening.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident."
