Govan Graving Docks drop-in event to be held following major consultation project

A drop-in event is to be held by the Govan Docks Regeneration Trust to share the findings of the Govan Voices consultation project.

The meeting will take place on Saturday, February 8 from 12.30pm to 5pm at Riverside Hall, Clydebrae Street.

The National Lottery Community funded consultation ran for a year from October 2018, documenting the views of the community about the iconic dry dock site and how its future should be addressed.

Govan Voices described its aim as "engaging the community in creating a vision for the future of the graving docks that will both respect the heritage and address the social and economic needs of the area."

They have also looked to engage in the wider Glasgow area outside of Govan as well as those interested in maritime and the heritage protection of the docks.

The organisation will now use the documented views to impact the future of the Govan Graving Docks.

Copies of the published consultation report will be available to pick up at the meeting and trustees will be on hand to talk to visitors. There will also be opportunity for volunteer registration for those who are interested.
