Govan fire: Elder Street blaze leaves man seriously injured

A man has been seriously injured after a fire took hold of a home in Govan.

Fire crews were called to the scene on Elder Street at around 9pm last night (Sunday).

The 52-year-old man is currently being treated in Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The fire is not being deemed as suspicious, police confirmed.

A Police Scotland spokesman advised: “Police received report of a fire at a property on Elder Street in Glasgow around 9pm on Sunday, 20 September, 2020.

“Emergency services attended and a 52-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries.

“The fire is not being treated as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing."
