Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse by Chris Riddell - review

Chris Riddell, Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse

This is an amazing book with lots of detailed description about a girl and her mouse-friend: Ishmael. Read on to find out about their exciting adventures…

My favourite character was Ada because she was so interesting. She meets new characters on her journey round the huge house. In some parts of the story, Ada discovers some bits of the house that she has never seen before!

Emily Cabbage (a friend of Ada) kindly invited her to the secret: "Attic Club." They both like painting and most of the time, Emily paints anything that comes in her path!

There is a really sad bit in the story which is at the end, where Ishmael has to leave Ada because he is a ghost and he gets lonely. Ada is always nice to him but she spends more time with her friends. Sometimes, Ishmael is not recognisable because he is either too small or too transparent.

I really like how the author has made Ada walk through all these places and made her sometimes with a lot of people and sometimes with not a lot of people. He describes the scenes in perfect detail, not missing out anything.

I would recommend this book for 8-10 year olds. Also, that is why I am giving this book a high rate of 9/10.
