Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse by Chris Riddell - review

I LOVED this book, and I mean loved it! I was reading it all the time, until late every night in bed. Of course Chris Riddell’s clever, humorous storytelling wouldn’t be complete with his beautiful sketches on most pages!

Ada Goth lives in Ghastly-Gorm Hall with her father, a dozen servants and some creepy ghosts. But all she really wants is a friend to explore everything with, as she is not very close to her father, who has been distant to Ada ever since the death of her mother.

One night, she meets a ghostly mouse Ishmael and her life changes dramatically. It is up to Ada and Ishmael to sort out the strange happenings at Ghastly-Gorm Hall. But, little do they know, they may get caught up in a bigger adventure than they had anticipated...

Goth Girl

This book is jam-packed full of funny jokes and characters, which made it a really enticing read. For example, at one of Lord Goth’s many dinner parties, Jane Ear as opposed to the famous Jane Eyre. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes hilarious, fast-paced books with illustrations and characters that leap off the page.

10 out of 10, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough!!!!
