Meet Ada Goth. She lives in Ghastly-Gorm hall with her father, Lord Goth, lots of servants and at least half a dozen ghosts.
However, Ada doesn't have anyone to explore her enormous, creepy house with. Then, one night, everything changes when she meets Ishmad, a ghostly mouse. Together, they want to solve the mystery of Ghastly-Gorm hall and find out many unexpected things. With the hobby horse race coming up and the crowded hall, something's up. Especially with the dodgy caretaker and some secret gardens. Along with her strange governess who teaches in the dark and some loyal attic club members, Ada must save whatever is hiding in her home.
This book is fun, light-hearted and an easy read. The words themselves are quite simple but effective. With a beautiful hardback and a purple edge to each page, the book has a luxurious feel. This book is enchanting and a delightful read for ages 7 and older.
