Leeds United missed the chance to open up a six-point gap at the top of the Championship on Tuesday evening as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Luton Town at Elland Road.
After dictating most of the first half in terms of possession, Leeds were stunned just five minutes into the second half when the Hatters took the lead through half time substitute Harry Cornick.
But the Whites, who travel to Ewood Park to face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, drew level just 13 minutes later through a composed finish from Stuart Dallas, who was forced off in the latter stages of the contest.
Leeds threw everything at Nathan Jones' side in the hope of finding a winner, with the best chances falling to Patrick Bamford and Dallas, but the relegation-threatened Hatters weathered the storm, boosting their own survival chances.
The result, of course, is far from ideal for Leeds, but it keeps them top of the pile with six games remaining, but the gap could be reduced to just one point if West Bromwich Albion defeat Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Wednesday evening.
However, Leeds' destiny remains in their own hands, as they know if they do what they know they need to do they will be kicking off the 2020/21 season in the Premier League.
After such a disappointing result, it is hardly surprising that Leeds' supporters, who will have no doubt felt the pain of not being present at Elland Road, have flooded social media with their frustrations.
